KINESIO TAPING

People all over the world suffer from back pain, neck pain, knee pain and joint pain, and in many cases ordinary methods of treatment cannot help them.

Kinesio taping is a method that is based on the natural healing of the body itself. It uses a specially developed tape which allows the skin to breathe and which enables a wide scope of movement. The tape contains no pharmaceutically active or adhesive agents. It is effective whatever the everyday situation you find yourself in, whether it be working, playing sport or taking a shower.

Kinesio taping can be used for head and neck pain as well as for back problems such as lower back pain and scoliosis. Use of the tape leaves no marks or scars. It has proven successful in the treatment of a range of sports injuries, including to muscles and joints, and for post-trauma support.

LIGHT THERAPY

Light therapy is a recognised method of treating winter depression and relieving spring fatigue. It is like an artificial sun which influences the body’s biological day/night rhythm and regulates the level of serotonin – the well-being hormone.

Tiredness, lack of energy, mood swings, drowsiness and increased appetite in autumn and winter are all symptoms which can be relieved through light therapy. The fact that these symptoms occur during the darker times of year may be connected to problems in regulating the level of the hormone melatonin in your body, which also tends to be higher than normal during the day. Light therapy helps to reduce the production of this hormone during the day and will leave you feeling more cheery. The light used in the procedure slows production of melatonin in the brain, thus reducing drowsiness and mood swings.

Light therapy is also very helpful if you suffer from sleep disturbances caused by jet lag and working at night.

In order to gain the maximum benefit from the therapy, it is recommended that you take a daily course lasting from 1-3 weeks which may then be repeated 1-2 months later. The course of treatment is most effective as a prophylactic.

Please note: Since light is absorbed via the retina, you must look directly at the light source for a few seconds every minute.

Duration: 30 minutes

You should not undergo this procedure if you are suffering from:

  •  glaucoma,
  • an acute or chronic eye infection,
  • retina,
  • lens complaints (or if you lack lenses).

You should also avoid the treatment if you are taking medicines which are contraindicated in relation to light therapy (photosensitive preparations such as chloroquine, lithium and fluoxetine), tetracycline preparations, Daonil, Euglucon, Glibenese, Klorproman, Klorpromazin, Largactil, Melizid, Melleril, Mindiab, Neotigason, Orsanil, Rastinon, Roaccutan or Semi-Eugluco.

FUNCTIONAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION MAGNETO STYM

Treatment for urinary incontinence and the pelvic floor muscles

A new and effective method of lowering hyperactivity of the bladder using functional magnetic stimulation. The therapy allows soothing symptoms related to various types of urinary incontinence, facilitates faster recovery after surgery or postpartum recovery. The therapy is also effective for some types of erectile dysfunction as well as chronic pelvic or lower back pains.

The therapy is effective for treatment of:

  • urinary incontinence,
  • faecal incontinence,
  • postpartum recovery,
  • recovery of pelvic floor muscles after surgery,
  • chronic prostatitis,
  • urinary incontinence due to prostatitis,
  • erectile dysfunction,
  • menstrual pains resulting from poor blood circulation.

The procedure:

  • The therapy is simple and requires no special preparation.
  • During the therapy the patient remains clothed and sits in a comfortable chair. During stimulation, the patient focuses on aware contractions of the muscles being stimulated.
  • The therapy is non-invasive, painless and has no known side effects.
  • First improvement can be seen after a few sessions.
  • The therapy plan is determined individually for each patient by a doctor after an initial examination.
  • To increase the effect of the therapy the doctor may decide on using combined treatment (for instance, on using vacuum therapy).

COMPRESSION THERAPY

Compression therapy involves the use of a compression therapy device to stimulate blood circulation and the lymphatic system, which helps reduce swelling and restore muscle function. Special cuffs are placed on the arms or legs, with chambers that are alternately filled with air, providing compression massage. The therapy also affects subcutaneous tissues, stimulating the drainage of lymph and interstitial fluids, and improving cellular and tissue metabolism.
It is suitable as an alternative to massage for issues such as varicose veins, swelling, muscle spasms, and cellulite. Compression therapy helps reduce pain, stimulates blood circulation, promotes wound healing, relieves conditions associated with dynamic and lymphatic edema, and improves lymphatic flow.
Compression therapy is not suitable for individuals with heart failure, deep vein thrombosis, phlebitis, or pulmonary embolism, as well as in the presence of neoplasms, extremity infections or tachycardia. We recommend consulting a physician before scheduling a session.
